Earth Hour: Uniting people to protect the planet

There is no doubt about it; the world is facing some of the most critical environmental challenges in its history. That may make the journey to a sustainable future seem difficult to imagine, but it is far from impossible. Change this big needs you. It needs every one of us. Together our individual actions add up to make a difference collectively. In fact, change is already underway.

Earth Hour is harnessing the new digital frontier by using social technology to connect humanity to save the planet. Across the globe, Earth Hour's campaign on YouTube has attracted four million participants and received more than 200,000 commitments from individuals, businesses, organisations and governments, all taking their action for the action for the planet far beyond the hour. 

In conjunction with Earth Hour campaign, the Bank is committed to support by turning the lights off for an hour on 23rd March 2013 at 8.30pm. At the same time, the Bank is also undergoing energy saving initiatives in order to achieve standard building energy index.
